DAY #1 - The Arrival

Wednesday, 15 August

I opened my eyes and realized that I have arrived in Iloilo International Airport. It was 8 AM and the weather was SOOOO GREAT. It was hot, sunny, but different than Indonesia, I think the air is a little bit drier.

Went out from the inside, we met Mrs. Nemia Mabaquiao who taking care for this program as she is the Vice President of External Affairs of ISAT-U, Ms. Lyza, the staff of External Affairs, and Mrs. Shai, the SEA-TEACHER Coordinator. They picked us up and brought us to the campus to had some halal breakfast. But before that, we took some pictures first. Cheers!

Then we arrived at the campus. From the airport to campus, we just need to spent 15 minutes by riding a car. I met my new friends who are from some universities of Indonesia and Thailand. ISAT-U coordinators prepared halal foods for us so that we can ate soup, fried fish, and a fried egg. After having a breakfast, we went to our dorm which near the campus, it’s just about 100 meters away because actually it will be a University Hotel. Our coordinators said that we can rest for a while for get rid from our jet lag, and will go out again to eat lunch together.

We went out at 12 PM. Yakimis is the place where we lunch together, Yakimix is an all-you-can-eat restaurant. We had a good time to knew each other before living in the dorm for 1 month.

After eating our lunch, we introduced ourselves to each of our coordinators. We are parted by the major. There are three majors: IT & Business, CIT, and SEA Teacher. As I am the part of IT major, the coordinator who will be in charge of me is Mr. Jun Badoles. I call him Sir Jun. He was the person who interviewed me in the interview session, and he is so friendly.

At 3 PM, we back to dorm and went to a campus tour with Sir Jun. We walked around the building of ISAT-U and greeted friendly with the students and lecturers here. They receive us with open hands. We introduced by Sir Jun about our department building, where will be the center of our informations.

The campus tour ended at 6 PM and we back to our dorm for pray. Since 9 PM is our maximum time to go out of the campus and dorm area, we went to the nearest minimarket to buy a new SIM Card with the accompany of Ms Leizel, my student buddy. Actually, my new roommate, Fajrina was the one who bought it because I already bought one for me earlier at SM City Mall Of Asia.

We went back to our dorm around 7:30 PM, and slept. Lot of things will come for the next days.
